Finding a sedan that doesn’t say “I’m part of a family unit” can sometimes be a challenge. You want something affordable that can hold more than 2 people with ease. You want all the modern technology and features, but also safety. So that sedan needs some style and durability if it’s going to hit the streets on the weekend.

That’s why cars like the Mitsubishi Lancer exist. Its a 4-door sedan, and it’s far from boring. The Lancer comes in many trims,  two engine options, front or all-wheel drive, and it is affordable. Then, consider the warranty Mitsubishi offers and the Lancer’s MSRP at $17,595 is a really great deal. Here’s what drivers of a Lancer love.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer has two engine options to choose from. Drivers can choose a 2.0L I4 DOHC 16-valve that generates 148-horsepower with 145 lb-ft of torque, and drivers can expect 24/31 MPG in the city/highway. Or there is an upgraded engine choice that is a 2.4L engine. That  engine hits a little harder with 168-horsepower, but loses a little fuel efficiency.

Interior and Exterior

The Lancer has plenty of head, shoulder, and legroom for all of its passengers and can seat up to five people. Plus, it comes with many awesome gadgets. To give a sense of all the great features that come on the highest trim, the GT 2.4 has automatic headlamps, heated side mirrors to avoid fogging in harsh weather, a sunroof, rain sensing wipers, and rides on 18-inch rims.

That’s just the beginning of cool things on the Lancer. Inside, it’s a taste of luxury. Leather seating, heated front seats, and heat ducts for the passengers. For those who need a little extra cargo space, the second row is a 60/40 split, so there’s still room for an extra passenger while loading up the vehicle. There’s even more cool gadgets in the technology section.

Technology and Safety

To start, the multimedia hub is a Rockford Fosgate premium sound system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 compatibility. The FUSE hands-free with Bluetooth voice activated system is integrated in all Lancer trims so drivers can keep their eyes on the road while listening to their favorite music or taking an important call.

For safety, the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer has a total of seven airbags including the driver’s knee airbag. They’re all controlled by an advanced dual-stage airbag system. The safety features are the same in every trim, so whether you are shopping for a family car and need LATCH ready seating restraints for children seats, or just want to an engine immobilizer so your car won’t go missing, you have your choice of Lancers to choose from.

As mentioned, Mitsubishi is the best brand to go to if looking for the best car warranties on the market. Most brands have the basic and powertrain warranties available. Mitsubishi backs their vehicles with a basic warranty for 5 years or 60,000 miles and a powertrain warranty for 10 years or 100,000 miles. There is also an anti-corrosion warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles, and unlimited of roadside assistance.

That’s the quick run-down of the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer, but there’s a lot more in store for drivers looking for a stylish sedan. At University Mitsubishi, you can always view what we have in stock in our online inventory, or take a test-drive. Stop by today!
