Current Trends in the Auto Market
The auto market is ever-changing, ever-growing. In today’s world, with how quickly technology evolves and replaces its predecessors, automakers have a tough time keeping up. Some brands have just begun to support smartphone connectivity, a travesty with how long Bluetooth has been around. Mitsubishi Motors is one of many brands that has stepped into the new world, and it is on the up and up with current car trends.
Technology
Technology is the most obvious change we’re seeing and will continue to see in automobiles. Aside from smartphone links and connectivity to make use of Apple CarPlay and Android Google Auto (both found on the Mitsubishi Lancer Limited Edition, Mitsubishi Outlander, and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition), infotainment systems are becoming a big deal. Mitsubishi will finally be getting its own type of infotainment system later with Mitsubishi Connect. Another interesting bit of technology that is trending would be heads-up displays – these have been around for awhile now, but technology like this will be popping up in more vehicles today, like the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
New Ways to Drive
Hybrid vehicles have been spreading all over the country, and at the moment, autonomous cars have started testing in California. Soon, they might pop up in other parts of the country when validated for the road. Hybrid vehicles have been around for close to two decades now, and Mitsubishi Motors has not been one to shy away from green fuel. It made the first highway-capable all-electric vehicle, the Mitsubishi i-Miev, is currently producing the first all-electric commercial truck, the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter, and will be moving forward with hybrid SUVs going forward. Other bits, such as virtual assistants and artificial intelligence in cars is a goal many auto brands are racing to integrate. The largest auto market race today however is the autonomous self-driving car race, and Mitsubishi Motors revealed their autonomous car technology recently.
Advanced Safety
Advanced and automatic safety features are somewhat new, but have been popping up in vehicles in recent years. Such features go beyond better body construction, like the Mitsubishi RISE design, or traction control systems. These features include forward collision mitigation, a system that tries to avoid and reduce the damage of an impending collision, blind spot warning, a system that alerts drivers to cars passing in their blind-spot, and more safety features found on Mitsubishi vehicles.
