Updates for the 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
The 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross benefitted from the style updates, and the sales can prove it. By the end of the year, the 2025 model year of the Eclipse Cross will be available, and with it, some small improvements. Most of the features seem to crossover from the 2024 model, but check out what’s new for the 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
Four trims made up the 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, consisting of ES, LE, the SE, and the SEL trims. It isn’t clear if the new SE Black Edition is a trim or just an appearance package. All trims are powered by 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine capable of generating 152 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, and feature Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system. Paired with an 8-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT), the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross should have the same fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
Let’s say the SE Black Edition is a trim with the appearance package already selected. One could assume it’s a blacked-out appearance package that comes with a black paint job, black decals, black emblems, black hub caps – we paint it all black. For 2025, a new front lip and rear spoiler have been added for a more unique look. Already looking a little sinister with daytime running LED lights, color-LED rear taillights, and an LED high mount stop light is joined by LED headlamps and fog lights, the SE also added automatic headlamps and featured a new hands-free electronic tailgate with kick-motion sensor.
The SE continues to deliver the goods in the interior cabin. An 8-way power driver seat, synthetic suede upholstery, and artificial leather-wrapped shift knob give the place a more upscale feel, and add dual-zone automatic climate control to make it more comfortable. To really make it snazzy, the SEL trim upgraded to all leather upholstery, and gives the front passenger all the modifications the driver’s seat offers. We expect the same features to return for the 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
Mitsubishi Motors really changed up their infotainment system when they switched over to the smartphone-link display system (SDA). Standard past the base, this infotainment system is also capable of Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. For 2024, the SE added navigation to the host of features and a six-speaker system upgrade from the standard four-speaker system. If you want a more surround sound feel, the SEL trim was able to upgrade to an 8-speaker system with an add-on package.
The 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse should keep many of its safety features, including forward collision mitigation system and lane departure warning system with pedestrian detection as a lineup standard. For more advanced safety features, the SE and SEL trims add adaptive Cruise Control, blind-spot warning system, lane change assist, and a rear cross-traffic alert system to the collection. For 2025, a new standard seat alert has been added. Mitsubishi Connect is a thing, a connected service feature added to recent model year vehicles.
All Mitsubishi models come with a basic 5-year/60,000-mile warranty. It also has a limited powertrain warranty for 10-years/100,000 miles and an anti-corrosion warranty for 7-years/100,000 miles. Finally, roadside assistance comes with a 5-year warranty.
