The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is fresh and gussied up for years to come, with a posh and elegant design on the inside-out. There’s also plenty of cargo and passenger space to go around owing to the elongated body of the SUV. Other highlights like a slew of in-car technologies and the the3.0-L diesel engine, add up to the many reasons why the Tahoe has been chosen as Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!
Engine
With the exception of the High Country trim, all 2021 Tahoes possess a 5.3-liter V8 that pushes out 355 horsepower with 383 lb-ft of torque. There is also an optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel 6-cylinder for all models except for Z71’s, which produces 277 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of torque. High Country models are the only models that have the benefit of the 6.2-liter V8, as it zooms to 420 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of torque.
All three engines are mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive (RWD) is standard on all but the Z71, which comes with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) system. However, 4WD is optional for all other models.
Exterior
The 2021 Tahoe is quite long at 210.7 inches. It has a classic boxy style, but with a bit with the front row consisting of distinctive and a curvaceous pair of running and standard headlights located by the grille.
Besides Tahoe LS trims, all models receive a power-operated and hands-free tailgate. RSTs provide a bit of oomph with their blacked-out features and large 22-inch wheels, while the Z71 has a special front fascia, a skid plate, and bold red tow hooks. Additionally, the High Country trim tacks on bronze grille accents, optional power-retractable assist steps, and glossy 22-inch wheels.
Interior and Standard Features
The 3-row Chevy model can seat up to eight passengers, but of course, that’s contingent on whether that particular model has a bench rather than two captain’s seats in the second row. Regardless, these seats have engaging upholstery that ranges from a premium-like cloth to perforated leather. Drivers will also delight in the user-friendly controls and its simple layout.
The third row has a generous amount of legroom, specifically by 10-inches. Cargo space is also plentiful with 25.5 cubic-feet with the rear seats up and 123 cubic feet with the seats down.
The least-expensive Tahoe LS is pretty well resourced, it comes with premium cloth seating, tri-zone climate control, remote engine start, 8-way power front seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
The standard infotainment system packages a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and 6-speaker audio system. The brand’s OnStar connected services come with 4G LTE and in-vehicle Wi-Fi. All Tahoe’s also include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
If possible, we try stepping up to at least an LT trim, as it comes with a hands-free power tailgate, leather seating with a memory driver’s seat, 9-speaker Bose audio system, wireless phone charging, and heated front seats.
