The 2020 Jeep Compass Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

Some say that people who buy a Jeep don’t get one because they need one, it’s because they want one. However, the Jeep Compass SUV proves that it’s more than worthy to families and those with an adventurous spirit. This compact crossover involves its familiar off-road capabilities, several in-car technologies, and driver assists. It’s no wonder why the 2020 Compass has been chosen as Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

Engine

The 2020 Jeep Compass solely uses a 4-cylinder 2.4-liter engine, producing a suitable 180 horsepower with 175 lb-ft of torque. This vehicle may be featured in either 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive (2WD, 4WD). The Sport and 4WD Latitude feature a standard 6-speed manual.

Every trim level that’s geared with an automatic transmission consists of start/stop technology that idles the motor when the vehicle comes to a stop. When paired with a 4WD Compass, the SUV can tow up to 2,000 lbs.

Exterior

The Jeep Compass was and still is a stunner for the 2020 model year, somewhat resembling a Cherokee. Standard on the Trailhawk and Limited Jeeps, plus an option on the Latitude is a black, 2-tone roof. Some cool Easter eggs to look out for are the Loch Ness monster on the rear hatch glass or the Morse code spelling “sand, snow, river, rocks” on the dead pedal. Limited trims have extra chrome on the outer body, while the Trailhawk is more subtle in its rugged elements with augmented ground clearance, skid plates, an all-black anti-glare hood, and spiffy red two hooks.

Interior

The cabin of this Jeep Compass has a similar look and aura to the Renegade and Cherokee siblings, featuring big round air vents, meticulously placed controls and appropriate knobs and buttons where it would be the most beneficial. The seats are quite cozy and rear-seat passengers will revel in the 38.3 inches of legroom. When the rear seats are upright, this compact has a spacious 27 cubic feet of luggage space, only to expand to almost 60 cubes when the seats are folded.

Standard Features

The 2020 Compass has four trims to work with: Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk, and Limited. The base Jeep Compass Sport trim encompasses some cool technologies for its low price, such as keyless entry, rearview camera and a 6-speaker infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

If possible, it’s recommended that one at least opts for a Compass Latitude, as this model offers many more standards like automatic headlights, proximity key with push-button start, cornering fog lights, 17-inch wheels, ambient interior lighting, and illuminated vanity mirrors. Safety gadgets like blind-spot monitoring and forward-collision alert are also available throughout the lineup.
