The 2020 Dodge Durango Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!
The 2020 Dodge Durango SUV is a delightful mid-size utility vehicle that has plenty of room for seven occupants. Its highlighting assets include eye-catching style, energetic V8s, top-notch towing ability, and spacious 3rd-row seating. Let’s dive a bit deeper into this fascinating Used Car of The Week!
Engine
Unlike many base engines that start off with 4 cylinders, the 2020 Durango uses a standard and peppy Pentastar 3.6-liter V6. This motor is superb in its response, with the ability to tow 6,400 lbs, as it has an output of 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It also has the best fuel economy out of the bunch with 26 mpg (RWD) and/25 mpg (AWD) for the highway.
The next two options are the Hemi V8 motors. The R/T trim gets the 5.7-L V8 as a standard, with an output of 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the SRT’s enormous 6.4-L V8 has standard AWD, as well as an incredible output of 475 horsepower with 470 lb-ft of torque.
Exterior
The entry-level SRT trim has a daring look that stands out from other mid-sizers in its segment. Stepping up to the Durango GT will introduce you to a more intense SUV, while the Citadel is a bit more opulent. The R/Ts are also much bulkier and have a tough look and have an SRT-style hood, complete with a large air scoop. The actual SRT looks like an all-American SUV, one that can hold its own against rivals like BMW, Porsche, and Audi.
Interior and Standard Features
Inside the 2020 Durango is a pleasant space for 7 occupants, it also appears to have an aura about it that is the one to beat for even the newest cars, particularly with the high-end Citadel trim, as it has heated/ventilated front seats and heated 2nd-row seats.
Most trim levels give buyers the option of swapping the second-row bench with the captain’s chairs, which also allow for easier access in the third row and features booster seats. When the chairs are upright in all three rows, cargo space comes out to 17 cubic feet, then increasing the space from 43.3 and then on to 85.1. Front-passenger seats all fold down, allowing this vehicle to house long items. Citadel and SRT Durangos may also be identified with attractions of simulated suede.
The base-level SXT trim consists of many goodies such as seating for five, tri-zone automatic climate control, 18-inch alloy wheels, a V6 engine (with a Sport mode to spruce up the driving experience), load-leveling rear shock absorbers, heated side mirrors, keyless entry/ignition, and an infotainment system that includes AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, auxiliary audio input, six speakers and a 7-inch touch screen.
Upgrading past the SXT will reward you with more equipment, like the auto high beams, a power tailgate, sunroof, navigation, Nappa leather seats, and even more. Models with V8 engines get studier brakes, while the SRT also gets a sport-tuned adaptive suspension.
