Engine and Drive
There are five available engine options, with some of them exclusive to higher trims. Entry-level buyers are introduced to the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, which has a modest output of 158 horsepower with 138 lb-ft of torque, and is also matched with a 6-speed manual transmission or with an adept CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic. LX, Sport Sedan, and Sport Coupe models are paired with this motor.
The LX hatchback, EX, EX-L, Touring sedan and coupe get a bit more energy from the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharger. This engine has an output of 174 horsepower with 162 lb-ft of torque. Other than the Civic sport, all other models are paired with a CVT automatic. The Sport and Sport touring bump up their power just a bit with 180 horsepower using the same engine, while the Si trim increases its output with 205 horsepower.Â
Finally, the Civic Type R uses a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine to significantly upgrade its output to 306 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque. It’s also worth noting that Si’s and Type R’s require premium fuel, while the rest of the models can run fine on regular unleaded gasoline.
Exterior
The 2019 Civic tells a story with its contoured and athletic body. It lets you know that this vehicle has a dauntless behavior, especially with its bold front end, slender headlights, and tasteful c-shaped taillights. Both sedan and coupe models have rooflines with a sloped form, while hatchbacks are more distinctive due to their curvaceous at the rear, sporty-looking spoiler, and vent-like structure on both sides on the rear bumper. Sport and Sport Touring hatchbacks come with dual-exhaust outlets mounted in the center, while the Si model includes more intense exterior features. Type R has a hood scoop, three exhaust pipes, and a colossal rear spoiler.

From the intestinal, you’ll be overwhelmed with the posh materials and attractive plastics. The overall design is quite functional and made with comfort in mind, specifically with the large infotainment screen, that is easy to read. This screen also acts as the control center for audio, Apple CarPlay, and the available navigation system. This sedan is very spacious with 42.3 inches of legroom in the front seats, and 34.6 inches in the rear. Cargo space also serves impressive numbers with 15.1 cubic feet.
