Top 10 PHEV’s Under $40,000

Just recently, Kelley’s Blue Book gave the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV the honor of being one of its 10 Best Plug-In Hybrid Cars Under $40,000 for 2020. Editors at the renowned California-based vehicle valuation company commended the SUV crossover’s impressive value, family-centered comforts and generous powertrain warranty. This award also comes after a year that Kelley Blue Book awarded the PHEV on its 2019 Best Midsize SUV/Crossover 5-year Cost to Own.

Extensive Range

The Outlander’s plug-in model can switch between three different drive modes in order to better its vehicle performance. Those who prefer driving with zero emissions can turn on the SUV’s EV Mode, doing this will allow the vehicle to ride on all-electric power. However, those who need a bit more power or have a long journey ahead of them can make a shift to the Series Hybrid or Parallel Drive Model in order to get an extra boost from its 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine.

The 2020 PHEV’s electric driving range can go up to 22 miles and with 310 miles of total driving range. On account of this, drivers can easily use their SUV during his or her commute or weekend extravaganza’s, they also don’t have to worry about making various or inconvenient stops in order to recharge their battery.

Safety Technologies

Kelley Blue Books editors lauded the PHEV’s unmatched 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, which puts drivers’ minds at ease when going about his or her destinations. The PHEV also includes a multitude of advanced safety technologies such as Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The Outlander’s plug-in also has a cabin that proves to be very spacious and comfortable for all who come aboard. The power lumbar provides drivers with a way to make their seating position more agreeable, while also heating his or her seat during particularly frosty mornings. In the back of the second row, owners can place their luggage or grocery items in 30.4 cubic feet of cargo room and also fold down the second row’s seat to make use for up to 66.6 cubic feet.

More Options

The 2020 SUV also has two optional packages, with the SEL Touring being the most extensive. For an extra $3,000, shoppers will get LED headlights and fog lights, a power glass sunroof, the Mitsubishi Power Sound audio upgrade, a heated steering wheel and the multi-view camera system and adaptive cruise control. For $1,000, the SE Convenience Package will gift shoppers with a glass sunroof with rear cross-traffic alert and lane-change assist. Pearl White paint color is also an option for $395.
