Details on the Updated Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been around since August 2015, so it seems about time for a mid-cycle refresh. The midsize SUV already had an imposing front fascia, which was a bold design, but the facelift gives it an extra notch by applying the updated corporate design dubbed as the “Dynamic Shield” that’s been seen on the Eclipse Cross. Many will find almost the same front fascia on the L200 / Triton pickup truck which the inspiration for the Pajero Sport.

On the outside, the front fascia gets an update with a new front bumper which features a cluster of lights for fog lamps, revised chrome grille and turn indicators. The new-look is in line with Mitsubishi’s design language. At the rear, the changes are similar to an updated bumper is added as well as a tweaked set of tail lamps. New alloy wheels are added to the updated Pajero as well.

The cabin comes in grey and black with silver inserts. It also gets a redesigned center console and soft materials on the door pads and handles. As for equipment, the updated Pajero Sport possesses an 8-inch MID, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a powered tailgate that can also be operated through a mobile app and dual-zone AC. For safety, the Pajero comes with adaptive cruise control, seven airbags, lane change assist, rear traffic alert system, blind-spot detection system, and a 360-degree camera. 

Inside the cabin, Mitsubishi installed an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. The Pajero Sport feels more upscale than previous models thanks to more soft-padded surfaces throughout the interior. The rear passengers now have access to their own AC power outlet which is next to the USB port.

The Pajero Sport comes with a 2.4-liter diesel machine that makes 181 hp and 430Nm of torque. This engine has an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with an optional 4WD system. Mitsubishi is boosting the Pajero Sport with the refresh of the safety features.
