In 2022, the lineup expanded to five trims. With some changes expected to trim options, the 2023 lineup seems to remain. This would include the 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage ES 5MT (5-speed manual transmission), ES CVT (continuously variable transmission), LE, SE, and BE. Every trim is powered by the 1.2L MIVEC DOHC engine under the hood, able to deliver 78 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. This means the only difference in fuel economy comes down to the transmission.
Engineering
Known for its high fuel economy, all engines have been optimized with Mitsubishi Motors’ brand of variable valve timing technology (VVT). All trims but the base ES 5MT trim come with a CVT, offering a high fuel economy of 36 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway. Consumers aren’t stuck with the five-speed manual transmission, and can upgrade if they want to. Otherwise, the fuel economy has a small drop to 33 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway.

Exterior Features
Keeping it simple in recent years, the exterior of the 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage mostly evokes style and warm colors. Standard features remain the same with halogen headlights and LED taillights for the majority of the lineup, with LED headlights on the SE trim. Also added for 2023, the SE and BE trims come with automatic headlights. The BE adds a little more flair with a black roof spoiler. The standard wheel size is 14-inches, with 15-inch wheels on the SE and BE.
Interior Features
The interior cabin is where Mitsubishi spoils consumers with a lot more to offer. Every trim comes with a 6-way adjustable driver seat, 4-way adjustable passenger seat, a split-rear folding bench seat, rear heater floor ducts, and automatic climate control. The standard upholstery is fabric, but the SE trim comes with a fabric and leather upholstery combination. For more comfort, the SE and LE are equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob (red stitching on the BE). The SE trim also features heated front seats.

The goods for the interior continue when it comes to technology. No matter the trim, every 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage comes with a 7-inch smartphone-link display audio system, offering AM/FM Radio Bluetooth wireless tech, and Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capability, and steering wheel audio, phone controls, and voice recognition controls. The standard sound system is a four speaker. For a little added convenience, the SE trim is equipped with FAST-key entry and push-button start.
Safety Features and Warranty
Mitsubishi has been upgrading safety in recent years with advanced features. Basic standard safety features include an advanced dual-stage airbags (including the driver’s knee airbag), three-point seatbelts, anti-locking brakes, active stability control and traction systems, a LATCH child seat tether system, a rearview camera, an anti-theft engine immobilizer, and built with Mitsubishi’s signature RISE body construction. Advanced safety features include forward collision mitigation system with pedestrian control, and a lane departure warning system on the SE trim.
All Mitsubishi vehicles are covered by a basic limited warranty for 5 years/60,000 miles, a powertrain limited warranty for 10 years/100,000 miles, 7 years or 100,000 miles of anti-corrosion coverage, and roadside assistance.
