2021 Mitsubishi Mirage Specs
Mitsubishi Motors may be an automaker with a large focus on SUVs and crossovers, but don’t count sedans and passenger cars out just yet. Returning for the 2021 model year is the Mirage and Mirage G4. With the 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage still the most fuel-efficient vehicle on the road, there’s plenty to love.

Engine Type
For 2021, Mitsubishi Motors is keeping things simple. The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage comes in four trims – ES, LE, the Carbonite Edition, and SE. All trims are powered by the same 1.2L MIVEC DOHC engine, optimized with Mitsubishi Motors’ personal variable valve timing technology (VVT) for optimal performance and better fuel efficiency. It’s able to generate 78 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque.
Engineering
Aside from the base (ES) trim, all vehicles come with an INVECS-III continuously variable transmission (CVT); the manual comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. This gives the base trim a fuel economy of 33 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway, with the rest of the trims getting 36/41 mpg city/highway. The myth of more fuel efficiency with manual transmission is no more.

Exterior Features
For the exterior features, things are sprinkled around a bit, and top-end features like LED headlights and DRLS and automatic high beam control will only be found on the SE trim. The rest of the lineup comes with halogen headlights and LED taillights. The Carbonite Edition comes with some fascia features that match its name: the grille, side airdam, and rear airdam all come with a new Carbon pattern. Aside from this, the Mirage is mostly the same, riding on 14- or 15-inch wheels.
Interior Features
The cabin is a little nicer, with standard features including a 6-way adjustable driver seat, 4-way adjustable passenger seat, a split-rear bench seat, steering wheel audio and phone controls, steering wheel voice recognition control, and automatic climate control. Cool things like leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob are reserved for the SE trim.
Technology
Entertainment
The technology in this beauty breaks the pattern of keeping all the goods for the high-end trims. Standard across the lineup is the 7-inch smartphone-link display audio system with four speakers, Bluetooth wireless tech, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capability, AM/FM Radio, and rear heater floor ducts. FAST-key entry and push-button start are the only features reserved for the SE. They won’t be missed too much with all of this to look forward to.
Safety Features and Warranty
Like all Mitsubishi Motors vehicles, the 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage comes with anti-locking brakes, active stability control, an advanced dual-stage airbags (including the driver’s knee airbag), three-point seatbelts, a LATCH child seat tether system, an anti-theft engine immobilizer, and built with Mitsubishi’s signature RISE body construction. Upgrading safety every year, the 2021 Mirage also comes with a forward collision mitigation system with pedestrian control as a standard lineup. A lane departure warning system can only be found on the SE – a great feature for all South Florida drivers.
All Mitsubishi vehicles are covered by a basic limited warranty for 5 years/60,000 miles, a powertrain limited warranty for 10 years/100,000 miles, 7 years or 100,000 miles of anti-corrosion coverage, and roadside assistance.
