2017 MITSUBISHI MIRAGE SE

What many call an improvement on the 2015 model, the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage is bringing the big guns back again. Easy to maneuver, the Mirage is fuel-efficient and has plenty of new tech-goodies. The 2017 model comes in three trims, and we’re going to take a look at the SE to show you what a little extra can buy given its already low price. Say hello to the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage SE.

Engine

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage SE is powered by a 1.2L MIVEC DOHC 12-valve Inline 3-cylinder engine. It generates 78-horsepower with 74 lb.ft. of torque, a little more than its predecessors, and boasts a very generous fuel economy of 37 MPG in the city and 43 MPG on the highway. The Mirage SE comes standard with 5-speed manual transmission, and automatic is an option.

Interior

With room for up to five passengers, there is plenty of head and legroom for the typical family or a night out with friends. The driver’s seat is 6-way adjustable, and if there’s no one in the back seat, you can fold the rear seat down for extra cargo space. Because this is the 2017 Mirage SE trim, it comes with a 6.5-inch display audio with Smartphone link, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also has a Bluetooth hands-free phone system with steering wheel mounted controls.

Exterior

FAST-Key passive entry and push button start are also nice features that come with the SE. Fog lights come standard to increase driver visibility in poor weather conditions. For a little style, many exterior items like the side-mirrors, tailgate, door handles, and front and rear bumper are color-keyed, meaning they match the same color drivers pick for the exterior, but there are other options available as well. The side mirrors also have integrated turning signals. The Mirage SE rides on 14-inch alloy rims and comes with 165/65R14 tires. In case of a flat tire, a temporary spare tire is included.

Safety

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage SE comes with seven standard airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, and advanced dual-stage front airbags. Child safety locks come standard and an anti-theft engine immobilizer for added security. All models come with active stability control, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, and an anti-lock braking systems (ABS) to reduce loss of traction and avoid skidding.

Price and Warranty

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage SE is priced at an MSRP of $14,795; only slightly higher than the ES. It is backed by a basic limited 5-year or 60,000-mile warranty, an anti-corrosion warranty that covers body work for seven years or 100,000 miles, and comes standard with roadside assistance.
