2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Limited Edition
Mitsubishi recently announced some great news about the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer. Although the Lancer will be discontinued after the 2017 model year, Mitsubishi Motors is sending it off with a limited edition trim. That’s right, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport isn’t the only model with a limited edition trim this year. Coming to dealerships later this month (May 2017), consumers can expect to see a little something special before the Lancer disappears for good.
Sitting just above the ES trim, the Lancer Limited Edition trim on the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer is locked into the same engine as the base trim, a 2.0-liter DOHC I4 with MIVEC. The Lancer Limited Edition trim puts out 148 horsepower and has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The Lancer Limited Edition’s excellent fuel economy can be attributed to its automatic transmission, Mitsubishi Motors’ Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), an automatic transmission that seamlessly switches through gears without a loss of speed or expended fuel.
Nothing too surprising yet, but wait for it … the exterior of the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Limited Edition has a black paint treatment on the roof, upper front grille, fender, and door mirrors. It rides on 16-inch black alloy wheels, and sports a “Limited Edition” badge and a power glass sunroof with tilt and slide and one-touch open/close functionality. Okay, now it’s getting juicy. The exterior can also be painted in any of the already available Mitsubishi Lancer colors.
Inside there is a red-and-black color combination – black fabric with red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shift knob, brake lever, arm rest, and doors. If that wasn’t enough to spice things up, the interior will also feature aluminum pedals, a black headliner, and gloss black accents. Let’s not forget the 6.5-inch infotainment display being added in, complete with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto with smartphone link, Bluetooth technology, and an LCD multi-information display.
Best of all, it has a starting MSRP of $19,795 for all of this. How is that even possible, and why was Mitsubishi hiding such a gem this whole time? Be sure to look for it later this month, because they might fly off the lot!
