2016 Ford F250
Sales of pickup trucks and SUVs have been on the rise in the last several months. Not only is the increase in sales motivated by the recent decline in gas prices, but consumers are also more apt to buy larger trucks because manufacturers have begun increasing fuel efficiency. \

For consumers in search of a durable truck that has a high towing capability, the biggest two names in the game are Ford and Ram. While Ram is a company solely dedicated to building trucks and commercial vehicles, Ford manufacturers a variety of models across all types of car classes. Though Ford doesn’t specialize in trucks, they do produce one of the best pickup trucks available and their trucks are the only one’s to offer a towing capacity that rivals Ram trucks. Read below for the specifications on Ford F250 trucks.

ENGINE SPECS

The Ford F250 is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine which is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The F250 is the best-in-class gas engine and it generates up to 385-horsepower and 405 ft-lb of torque.

The F250 has been engineered to haul heavy loads with ease. The F250’s maximum payload is 4,130 pounds and if the truck is paired with a gooseneck hitch or a fifth wheel then the truck is capable of towing up to 16,600 pounds.

EXTERIOR

The F20 has a very distinct look that has been modified over the years. In comparison to the previous design, the current F250 model has a large chrome front grille with a large Ford logo right in the middle. Since the truck is built for towing or transporting large objects in the truck bed, the exterior side mirrors are telescoping to provide for better visibility when pulling a wide trailer. There there are also two tow hooks and tie-down hooks. The truck rides on 17-inch argent painted steel wheels and durable tires that provide balance and stability when driving with heavy cargo.

For safe stopping, the truck has 4-wheel power disc brakes with anti-lock brake system.
Trailer sway control and hill start assist come standard and make driving easier and safer. The vehicle’s shock absorbers help to make the ride smoother and more enjoyable. And finally, the F250 is equipped with dual beam halogen headlights for better viewing when driving at night.

INTERIOR

The F250XL is potentially a 6-passenger truck, however, the front and back rows would be a tight fit for three adults. The front row of seating is a 40/20/40 split bench, with the center armrest, cupholder and storage folding up when there are three passengers in the vehicle’s front row. The standard interior on the F250 is made of heavy-duty vinyl that makes for easy cleaning.

The F250 has somewhat limited entertainment features because the truck is intended as a work truck. Entertainment features include a AM/FM stereo with digital clock and two speakers. However, drivers will be happy to learn that the F250 does come standard with Ford’s SYNC technology which allows drivers to use a voice-activated system to make calls while on the road and keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.

The Ford 250 has various safety features that help keep drivers and passengers safe at all times. In addition to the driver- and passenger-side front airbags and front side-impact airbags, Super Duty Chassis Cab provides the Safety Canopy System, which uses a state-of-the-art roll-fold technology to pack extra airbags in the sides of the truck.

The truck is also equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system to help alert drivers of tire pressure so they can avoid a flat and maximize the vehicle’s fuel efficiency. The tire pressure monitoring system is especially important to fuel efficiency when towing large items.
