New Years Eve Resolutions and Bucket List Ideas – Enjoy!

With the New Year comes resolutions, but they don’t always have to be the typical ones. Think outside of the box this year! Instead of the standard resolutions like get in shape, save money, blah blah and so on, why not try something new? How about travel more, adventure more, and bucket list items. We have some ideas for New Year’s resolutions that can be achieved just by hopping in the car!

Drive America

Get in the car, and drive to a state you’ve never been before. Whether it’s somewhere far like California, or somewhere close and relatively unexpected like Alabama. Pick a city you want to visit in the state (every state has somewhere unique), and go. Explore. You only live once, and if you do this enough you can eventually cross 49 states off of your bucket list — yes, you can drive to Alaska, but do you want to?

Go to a Drive-in Movie

This is simple, yet fun. Many people haven’t experienced this because it is old school. However, here in South Florida we have a few drive in movie “theatres” still, including the well-known one at the Swap Shop in Hollywood. So why not check it out? Do something different. We think you will love it.

Explore New Scenery Locally

Don’t have the time or funds to road trip to distant locations, that’s okay. There are plenty of spots locally you would love if you just explored. Flip a coin, pick a direction, and see where you end up. Don’t plan the day, just see where it takes you. Take photos and make a scrapbook. Make memories to last a lifetime.

Sleep Under the Northern Lights

Ah, this one is on the bucket list of many! Doing this actually isn’t as difficult as you would think. You don’t have to travel to Alaska or leave the country. There are a couple states in the U.S. that you can road trip to and actually sleep under the northern lights. Some of the best states to see the northern lights include Minnesota, North Dakota, Colorado, Vermont, Montana, Oregon, Idaho, and several more. So pick your favorite and go!

Attend a Music Festival

This could be as easy as driving down to Miami for Ultra or road tripping to Tennessee for Bonnaroo or even California for Coachella, and everything in between. If you have never checked out a music festival, we recommend doing so as part of your 2017 bucket list.

Make a Famous Road Trip

This is a fun one. Route 66, Highway 1, California’s Pacific Coast Highway, the Seven Mile bridge, or whatever you choose! Don’t forget to snap the street sign for memories.
