The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV lineup consists of three trims: SEL, LE, and GT. Powering this PHEV is an AC synchronous permanent magnetic motor and a 2.4 liter inline-four-cylinder engine, With two electric motors, one generating 60 kW in the front and 70 kW in the rear, together, the powertrain can generate about 300 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.

The driving range on just the electric motor or total driving range is unknown, but in 2021, the Outlander PHEV could drive up to 24 miles with just the battery. A plug-in hybrid, the battery powering the electric motor can be recharged. The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV can use 120V or 240V outlets, with the former ranging from 9 to 14 hours and the latter in as little as 4.5 hours. If out and about, a CHAdeMO DC Fastcharge station can charge the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander in 30 minutes.

Standard across the lineup, every 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with automatic headlights, LED taillights, LED low and high beams, heated exterior mirrors, front rain-sensing wipers, a rear window wiper and defroster, roof rails, and rear privacy glass. For those that like the open air, the LE and GT are equipped with a power sunroof. The GT trim also comes equipped with LED fog lights. Every trim also comes with 18-inch wheels.
Interior Features
If looking for comfort, leather upholstery and suede are the choices for the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV cabin. Like the exterior, many standard features are offered: 8-way power-adjustable driver (with power lumbar support) and passenger seat, heated front seats, dual-zone a/c control, rear heater ducts, a 60/40 rear folding seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. This means getting an 8-inch smartphone link display standard, with Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, Bluetooth wireless technology, and steering wheel audio, phone, and voice recognition controls. The base SEL trim boosts its tunes through a 6-speaker system, but the rest of the lineup gets to enjoy an 8-speaker sound system.
Safety Features and Warranty
With a focus on safety, Mitsubishi has loaded up the 2022 Outlander PHEV with basic and advanced safety features. Every trim comes with anti-locking brakes, active stability control, an advanced dual-stage airbags (including the driver’s knee airbag), three-point seatbelts, a LATCH child seat tether system, a rearview camera, an anti-theft engine immobilizer, and a rearview camera (multi-view on the GT trim). Every vehicle is also built using Mitsubishi RISE body construction. Advanced features include a rearview camera, forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning plus, and blind spot warning with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alerts. Adaptive cruise control can be found in the GT trim.
