Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) has been going through some changes as of late, but while it completes its metamorphosis, the automaker has been releasing newly redesigned versions of the models in the lineup, and the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV regained its popularity with the 2022 model year. When MMNA first launched the all-new 2022 Outlander crossover SUV, it was through Amazon Live, the online streaming and shopping experience available in the U.S. During this time, the MMNA also announced a limited-time sweepstakes to give away a brand-new 2022 Outlander. The lucky winner is Victor Warmke of Anderson, Indiana. Here’s what he had to say about winning the new SUV.

“We enjoyed seeing the Outlander make its debut on Amazon Live and entered the sweepstakes without ever thinking we’d actually get to win such a beautiful new car…Now that we’ve had a chance to get behind the wheel, I’m even more excited. In person, it’s even better looking and more luxurious than it seemed on screen. It looks and feels like a much more expensive vehicle and has all the latest technology.” – Warmke

Kind words from a fan of the Mitsubishi Outlander. With a starting MSRP of $25,795 (plus destination fee), it’s affordable and still offers plenty of equipment, quality, and lasting value. Right from the start, the 2022 Outlander SUV is wearing the next generation Dynamic Shield front fascia that will set the look of all future Mitsubishi Motors models, at least for now. Bold, muscular, and riding on 20-inch wheels (not standard), the new platform and 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is a nice starting setup, able to generate 166 horsepower with 162 lb-ft of torque. This isn’t the only engine available in the lineup – select trims can also get the high-tier 3.0-Liter V6, able to produce 224 horsepower and 215 lb-ft of torque.

Mitsubishi Motors’ own brand of all-wheel drive (AWD), Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC), is now available for every trim, with two-wheel drive the standard on most of the lineup. Regardless of drivetrain, the 2022 Outlander SUV comes with a newly developed drive mode selector that comes with five-to-six settings consumers can flip through to find one that fits their driving style. This is a feature that quickly became popular in the market, as we all know, no one drives the same. So why should a car come with one setting? The standard wheels are 18-inches, and a good place to start for an SUV.

Outfitted with three rows of seats, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander can fit up to seven passengers comfortably with class-above materials and modern tech features available. These include a 2.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch center screen, and wireless smartphone charging capability with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, to name a few new additions. Also new, depending on the trim level, is the available Mitsubishi’s MI-PILOT Assist driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist, integrated navigation using what3words technology, and a windshield-display 10.8-inch full-color Head-Up Display (HUD). For increased comfort and entertainment, select trims come with semi-aniline leather upholstery and a 10-speaker BOSE audio system.

They’re calling it the next entry-level SUV on the market. Want to find your new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander at University Mitsubishi?
