The 2022 Honda Civic Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!
Driver’s Auto Mart is no average used car dealership because we house cars that haven’t even reached a year in terms of their overall ownership. One of those vehicles is the like-new 2022 Honda Civic compact.
This car has already been featured on Car and Driver’s Editor’s Choice list, has sedan and hatchback body styles, is more spacious and fuel-efficient, and has an overall comprehensive suite of in-car features. It’s no wonder why it’s been chosen as our Used Car of The Week!
Engine
The Honda Civic rides on either a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder (LX and Sport) or a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder (EX and Touring). The standard drives on a suitable 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque, while the 1.5-L fairs better with 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.
Both of these powertrains are paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), however, the Civic Sport and Touring trims use a larger torque converter, as it makes it possible to handle the added torque. The aforementioned trims also have paddle shifters and three drive modes to choose from: Eco, Normal, and Sport. There is also an optional 6-speed manual.
This Honda car is also skilled in saving gas as its 1.5-L provides an EPA fuel economy of 33 mpg city/42 mpg highway/36 mpg combined. The 2.0-L on the LX is even better with an EPA of 31 mpg city/40 mpg highway/35 mpg combined.
Exterior
The outer shell stuns with its simplistic and refined body lines that only enhance its level of sophistication. The nose has a slight slope to it and has fixed impact-absorption areas (meaning that it’s safer for pedestrians).
The headlights and taillights are also simplistic with their design, which only highlights the planted stance of the latest Civic. Other highlights include aerodynamic aids in the Si trim, which include a hidden front spoiler and a gloss black rear spoiler. The Si also has gloss-black trim around the mirrors and window surrounds, along with a duo of large oval exhaust outlets.
The traditional paint options include Crystal Black Pearl for a sleek look, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteorite Gray Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl. Two new hues for model year include Boost Blue Peal and Smokey Mauve Pearl. The Si may also have an optional Blazing Orange Pearl.
Interior and Standard Features
The inner layer is just as minimalistic as the exterior is, it includes straight lines that take over the cockpit, which has an excellent frontward view, along with an instrument panel with a digital tachometer and analog speedometer.
The sedan offers 14 cubes of luggage space, while the hatchback offers 24.5 cubes (even more when its 60/40 rear seats reach down.
The Si also has sports seats with fixed headrests and more support for the shoulders and thighs. The seat cushion is raised a bit in the front, which means that there will be reduced leg fatigue for drivers.
Entry-level features include 10 standard airbags, the HondaSensing safety suite, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Other standards include a digital instrument panel, 7-inch color touchscreen, folding rear seat, LED headlights and taillights, push-button starter, and automatic climate control.
