The 2021 Ford Mustang Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

June 19th, 2023 by

The 2021 Ford Mustang is not your average used car. It embodies the essence of American automotive culture and delivers an unforgettable driving experience. With its iconic design and powerful performance, the Mustang stands out from the crowd. Its highlighting features include its energetic base engine, coupe and convertible body styles, along with its advanced Sync 3 infotainment system.

Engine

The 2021 Ford Mustang offers a range of impressive engine options to cater to different driving preferences. While some may doubt a 4-cylinder engine in a Mustang, the turbocharged 2.3-liter unit found in the EcoBoost versions delivers a respectable 310 horsepower.

Alternatively, for those who crave the quintessential Mustang experience, the growling V08 engines are the way to go. The Mustang GT models boast a robust 5.0-liter V8 engine, packing an impressive 460 horsepower. Stepping it up a notch, the new Mach 1 Mustang takes the same engine and cranks the output to an exhilarating 480 horsepower. But for the ultimate performance experience, the Shelby GT500 takes the crown with its supercharged V8 engine, churning out a mind-boggling 720 horsepower. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automated transmission, the Shelby GT500 delivers breathtaking acceleration and power.

Exterior

The Ford Mustang has always been a symbol of speed and style, and the 2021 model takes it to a whole new level. The optional go-faster stripes add an extra touch of desirability and visual impact to the Mustang coupe. These stripes particularly stand out when paired with the stunning white/blue or blue/white combination in the Shelby GT500.

Additionally, the Mustang Mach 1 offers satin black stripes on the hood and sides, enhanced with vibrant red, orange, or white highlights, adding a touch of uniqueness and sportiness to its appearance. While the convertible Mustangs don’t come with these stripes, they still offer a sleek and elegant look with their black fabric roofs.

This particular model year brought on thrilling color options such as Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, Fighter Jet Gray, and Grabber Yellow for the regular GT and Shelby models. With striking aesthetics and a dynamic color palette, the Ford Mustang ensures that owners will turn heads wherever they go.

Interior

Inward, the Mustang provides a comfortable and driver-focused experience. Front occupants will find a sufficient amount of room, and the controls are conveniently placed for easy access. If equipped, the Recaro seats offer excellent support and a snug fit. However, rear seating in regular versions is somewhat limited in space. In the Shelby model, buyers have the option to remove the rear seats entirely, reducing weight for enhanced performance. A unique feature found in the Mach 1 is the cue ball manual transmission shift knob, adding a touch of nostalgia and style to the driving experience.

When it comes to visibility, the wide pillars and sloping roof of any Mustang coupe can hinder rear three-quarter vision. Additionally, blind spots become more pronounced when the convertible’s fabric roof is up. Speaking of the convertible, a latch at the top of the windshield must be released before the power-folding mechanism can lower the roof.

In terms of storage, the Mustang offers practical trunk space. The coupe version provides 13.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity, while the convertible offers 11.4 cubic feet. The rear seats can also be split and folded to accommodate larger items when needed.

Standard Features

The base model of the 2021 Mustang EcoBoost Fastback offers a range of appealing features at an affordable price point. It includes convenient amenities a push-button start, 17-inch alloy wheels, high-intensity-discharge (HID) headlights, 4-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, selectable settings for the steering (Comfort/Normal/Sport), Track Apps, and a line-lock feature, enabling the rear wheels to spin and warm up the tires on the track.

The standard infotainment setup involves AM/FM radio, CD player, wi-fi, Bluetooth, a 4-inch display, and two USB ports.

Stepping up to the Premium trim brings along more niceties such as the Sync 3 infotainment system, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
