The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is the perfect fusion between the off-roading Wrangler and a family-friendly utility truck.  It also has a favorable towing capacity of 7,650 lbs, which was ranked the best in its segment during the model year. This pickup also comes with two incredible powertrain options for the V6 engine, as well as top-notch drivetrain selections. See all of what this adventurous pickup has to offer with Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

Engine

The standard engine on the 2020 Gladiator truck is a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, matched to a 6-speed manual transmission but it can also be paired with an available 8-speed automatic. The second option is a diesel version of the V6 motor, and it has an output of 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, the 8-speed automatic is the only drivetrain paired with this engine.

Exterior

The Jeep Gladiator indeed looks like one with its strong and powerful stance. The entry-level Sport model includes in-bed cargo lighting, 17-inch steel wheels, black one-piece fender flares, and the Sunrider folding soft-top along with the sunroof. The S trim also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, and tinted windows.

Upgrading to the Gladiator Overland will reward you with power-heated side mirrors, side steps for occupants to easily get and out of the truck, as well as 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. For this model, a body-colored hardtop is just an option.

Reaching way up to the Rubicon trim, the front bumper is equipped for winching. It’s also geared with 2-piece high-clearance fender flares, a body-colored grille with Rubicon accents, rock rails, and 18-inch Falken Wildpeak all-season tires. All-terrain tires are also a smart option.

Interior and Standard Features

Stepping inside provides a bit of nostalgia to the third generation of the Wrangler, with its familiar center stack and console. The circle gauges and air vents are also reminiscent of the simpler times of Jeep, so it’s a fun element to bring in for modern times. The designers still let you know that this is indeed an adventurous model, as it has a rugged type of aesthetic but still with comfortable leather-wrapped material.

There are even some helpful storage options to work with, specifically located underneath and behind the seats. There are three seat configurations: Regular for passengers, upright seat cushions, and flatbacks. Additionally, behind the rear seat on the right is an available wireless speaker.

Standard entry-level features include trailer-sway control, in-bed cargo lighting, LED interior lighting, push-button start, a 5-inch display, cloth seats and lockable rear and behind-seat storage in the passenger area. The Sport S trim then adds on power door and tailgate locks, power windows, remote keyless entry, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and illuminated sun visors.

Overlands include a theft alarm protecting the doors and tailgate, the universal garage-door opener, and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. Then the interior gets dual-zone climate control, a larger 7-inch display screen, and a 115-volt outlet in the center console. There are also two extra USB and USB-C ports.

Lastly, the Rubicon encompasses LED center console lighting and premium cloth seats.
