The 2020 Ford EcoSport Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

The 2020 Ford EcoSport is a fun subcompact SUV that offers a fun drive and thrilling interior features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. This compact vehicle is easy to park in snug parking spaces and has a side opening for the rear hatch that prevents occupants from hitting their heads on a low-opening liftgate. Let’s dive deeper into this exciting Used Car of The Week!

Engine

The 2020 EcoSport SUV gets its zest from its two engine options: 1.0-liter turbocharged (EcoBoost) inline-3 and 2.0-liter inline-4. The standard for front-wheel-drive (FWD) models is a 1.3-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. This motor produces 123 horsepower with 125 lb-ft of torque. While this engine isn’t the fastest option, it provides excellent fuel economy figures (highway fuel economy: 27 mpg and EPA city: 29 mpg).

The second option, an aspirated 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, is better fitted to all-wheel-drive models. This motor produces 166 horsepower with 149 lb-ft of torque and has a 2,000-lb tow rating. This powertrain and the turbocharger both fit into a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

Exterior

This Ford EcoSport model is quite an attractive compact, which has some resemblance to the Escape SUV. It has more harsh elements than its competitors like the Hyundai Kona and Toyota C-HR. This ol’ sport rides nice and high, giving its drivers a better view of the road while also providing practicality with its low liftover height to make it easy to load groceries. Regarding the rear hatch, some reviewers have noted that loading the vehicle from a curb or sidewalk is much easier.

Interior

The interior of the EcoSport SUV gets major props to its generous cargo hold, particularly its configurable load floor. Its side-opening hatch door also aids in overall ease of use. It’s worth noting, however, that to get a level floor, the seat bottoms must be flipped up. Moving forward may result in a rather cramped rear seating area. On the other hand, the front seats are nice and tall, providing excellent comfort. The cabin is quite handsome, and the brand’s Sync infotainment system works in tandem with a large 8-inch touchscreen that is user-friendly.

Standard Features

The base-level Ford EcoSport S comes with several standard features. Some of these include a 3-cylinder turbocharged engine, a rearview camera, power windows, power locks, air conditioning, cruise control, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, AM/FM/MP3 Sync audio with six speakers, a W-Fi hotspot, FordPass Connect, 16-inch painted wheels, MyKey and a rear wiper/washer.

If possible, try upgrading to the SE trim, as this tacks on a power moonroof, Sync 3, an 8-inch touch screen, automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, and the Reverse Sensing System.

Meanwhile, the Titanium model includes the B&O premium audio system, navigation, rain-sensing wipers, leather seating surfaces plus, heated mirrors, and a steering wheel. At the same time, the top-tier SES Sports involves the 2.0-liter engine, all-wheel drive, blind-spot warning, and a sport-tuned suspension.
