The 2019 Mazda Miata RF Grand Touring Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

Many car buyers make their selections at the dealership based on practicality and overall reliability. While that’s all nice and dandy for your average family of four, that simply won’t do for a true car enthusiast.

The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata is the type of vehicle that will have drivers wonder if they really care about their destination or the drive getting there. This incredible roadster has several niceties concerning its performance, style, and in-car features. It’s no wonder why it’s been chosen as Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

Engine and Performance

The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata only has one engine option to get its gears going…but that’s because it’s the only engine that this vehicle needs. The 2.0-liter 4-cylinder powertrain has an output of 181 horsepower with 151 lb-ft of torque. It drives with a 6-speed manual transmission, which proves to be more than useful for performance, along with an easily adjustable clutch.

The Miata’s 50:50 weight balance turns on its charm when hitting those twists and turns, showing off how well the chassis performs. While regular commute driving does necessitate revving up the engine, it’s only in the car’s nature to do so, meaning that one will need to show haste in grabbing the next gear. The 6-speed manual is also a gem, as it aids in providing quick and natural steering effort, as well as superb suspension tuning.

Undoubtedly, the most exhilarating time to drive this Miata model is on a warm summer evening when the ol’ crooners are off the road, and the breeze hits just right to put your car’s top down. Rather than sitting in a nicely air-conditioned box, the driver becomes part of their environment, and that’s what makes a world of difference with this beaut.

Exterior

The Mazda designers seemed to show a bit of playfulness with this particular model year because, after three generations of practically the same style, the car received some surface detailing of the aluminum body panels, creating a snazzier look. At the same time, its miniature LED headlights, flared wheel wells, and wide grille gives it the perfect blend of intensity.

Interior

Moving inward, the cabin is a bit more simplistic with some intriguing touches. This 2-seater has a tilt/telescope steering wheel, along with an upright infotainment screen, circular air vents, a push-button starter, a conventional hand-pull emergency brake, large A/C knobs, and analog gauges with a centrally fixed tachometer. Many of these elements are similar to Mazda3’s interior (of that same model year).

The 2019 Miata was totally constructed around the driver, but it is worth noting that one might have to be creative when packing for a long road trip, as there is only 4.5 cubic feet of trunk space.

Standard Features

The Miata roadster has three trim levels: Sport, Club, and Grand Touring. Each model has a rearview camera, a fabric top, LED headlights, a tilt/telescope steering wheel, and two USB ports. It also involves black 16-inch metallic wheels for Sport and Club trims, cruise control, Bluetooth, and a steering wheel encompassing audio and cruise-control buttons.
