Headed Back to School? The Mirage G4 has Your Back

August 28th, 2018 by

Parents tend to have a lengthy checklist when it comes to buying their young adult children their first car – like handing over the keys to real independence. Efficiency, affordability, reliability, and safety are the four categories that a car must meet to even be considered, while looks and style may be the only concern for these future drivers. The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a car that somehow manages to meet all of these demands.

Efficiency

The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 enjoys a fuel economy of up to 35 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. Mirage G4 drivers save up to $1,750 on fuel costs over an average after five years when compared with the average vehicle according to fueleconomy.gov. The Mirage G4 boasts one of the best fuel economies among all subcompact vehicles, making them an excellent choice for parents that will be footing both the gas and monthly car payment bills.

Affordability

Speaking of monthly car payment bills, the Mirage G4 has an affordable starting MSRP of $14,395 (plus destination fee). The higher-tier trim, the Mirage G4 SE has a starting MSRP of $17,095 (plus destination fee). Both trims are affordable whether parents choose to lease or buy.

Reliability

The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 comes standard with one of the best warranties in the auto industry. A five-year or 60,000-mile (whichever comes first) limited basic warranty, and a ten-year or 100,000-mile (whichever comes first) limited powertrain warranty. No matter the circumstances, Mitsubishi vows to be there to help the car owner as time passes.

Safety

The safety features of a car play a big part when it comes to parents making a decision and the Mirage G4 offers plenty of safety features. There are a total of six airbags around the vehicle, including a driver’s knee airbag intended to protect the lower half of the body in case of a collision. Other standard safety features include three-point seatbelts, a rearview camera, anti-lock braking system, hill start assist, and active stability control.

Style

There’s no shortage of style when it comes to the Mirage G4. Available in two trims and seven different colors, the Mirage G4 ES rides on 14-inch steel wheels, while the SE trim has 15-inch dark chrome alloy wheels. Young drivers will be thrilled to learn that the ES trim comes with a standard 7-inch touchscreen audio display system, while the SE trim comes standard with a 6.5-inch smartphone display audio system. The SE trim also comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, both available as an upgrade option on the ES base trim. Both trims come standard with Bluetooth wireless technology and steering wheel audio controls – giving parents peace of mind that eyes will be glued on the road.
