2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT
The Outlander Sport is equipped with a 148-horsepower, two-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine-type and its five-speed manual transmission give the SUV plenty of power and great gas mileage — 25 MPG city traffic and 32 MPG highway.
Mitsubishi’s design and engineering team worked hard to make efficient and modern tweaks to the Sport’s exterior. While the vehicle’s front-end still boasts Mitsubishi’s signature look, the 2016 model has a more high-end look with a specialized windshield and chrome accents. Buyers also now have the option of three new exterior colors: Cool Silver, Diamond White Pearl and Quartz Brown.
Those living in cold and mountainous climates will be happy to hear that this year’s model has an electric de-icer feature on the windshield wipers, which are a great help to prevent snow and ice build up. Additionally, the Outlander Sport has added two new great features to the car’s exterior side mirrors. Now 2016 models have power-folding side mirrors, which help protect the vehicle’s mirrors from being damaged when parked, and they have LED turn indicators.
The interior of the 2016 Outlander Sport is refined and offers plenty of space, comfort, for the driver and passengers. The dashboard has a high-end look and feel with easy-to-read and easy-to-access controls. This year, Mitsubishi went all out to make the materials of their newest Outlander Sport nicer, perhaps to be more in sync with the vehicle’s more upscale, streamlined, and pristine overall look. Among the new features are the redesigned steering wheel, new 6.1″ Display Audio, high quality seat fabrics and a new light gray interior option.
The interior also comes with lots of functional details as well. They include: a sunglass holder; an interior remote hood and fuel door release lever; carpeted floor mats; a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel; rear heater floor ducts; a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat and a 4-way 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport interioradjustable front passenger’s seat; and a lot of thoughtfully-placed interior lights that provide ample lighting when needed.
For owners who want plenty of space for their stuff or who need quick access to the third row, the Outlander’s second row can be easily flipped and folded without any stress or frustration thanks to the design of a user-friendly 1-2-3 system. When both the second and third rows are flipped and folded down, the vehicle instantly provides 63 cubic feet of space.
Of all the new sleek additions, offered in the new 2016 Outlander Sport, nothing as important as the safety it provides for drivers and passengers.
The Outlander Sport has a multitude of safety features including an advanced seven airbag SRS system and Mitsubishi Motors’ patented Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) safety cell body construction.
The Outlander Sport is backed with a powertrain limited warranty that’s good for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty, which is among the industry’s best, also covers the 3,500-pound towing capacity that comes with the V4 engine. In addition, there’s a 5-year or 60,000-mile fully-transferable limited warranty and five years of unlimited roadside assistance.
